Today we slept in for the first time this trip. We have been getting up at 5:30-6:30 every morning, eating breakfast and then hitting the road. We didn’t leave the room for breakfast until after 8 a.m. Looking out of our window before leaving for breakfast, this is what we saw.
The buffet and a “breakfast” in the coffee shop were both $14.99, so we headed for the buffet. The buffet opened at 10 so we went across the street to the CAL-NEV Hotel & Casino. I had a pork chop, two eggs, hash browns and toast with coffee, and Babs had a Spanish omelet, hash browns and toast, all for $15 including tip. After breakfast, we took a walk to look at the cars that lined the street on both sides for five blocks.
We took a break for lunch, an “Awful, Awful” half pound hamburger on an onion roll with a half pound of fries.
Then we walked around looking at more cars.
After we finished looking at the cars, we went back to Harrah’s and listened to music being played by jazz guitarist Maxx Cabello, Jr’s band. It is one of the bands playing in a music festival being but on by Harrah’s.
We went to dinner at Cal-Nev Casino with Doe & Mel and then played a little cards and slots. When I returned to our room, I took these shots of Reno at night.
Tommy, this one is for you!
Tomorrow is a driving day with a long, eight hour drive from Reno to salt Lake City, UT.
Babs Says: The Wizard of Oz gave me $62.50.
