Another hot day. Babs and I had a great buffet breakfast courtesy of Hilton Honors. After breakfast I returned to the room to finish yesterdays blog posting and Babs braved the 102 degree heat and took a long walk. For those of you who know Lost Wages, she walked from the Tropicana across to the MGM Grand casino, crossed Las Vegas Blvd to the New York, New York casino, across Tropicana Blvd to the Excalibur casino, thru the Excalibur to the Luxor casino and on to Mandalay Bay casino and back to the Tropicana. That girl is almost a Forrest Gump.
When she returned we went down stairs to the casino and fed the slots for about 45 minutes and then headed out to our favorite lunch spot in Las Vegas, Joe’s Crab Shack at Caesars Place Forum Shops. We enjoyed our usual, a shared chopped seafood salad and an order of fried calamari.
After lunch we drove to the largest tourist trap on the north strip and purchased some souvenirs. Returning to the Tropicana, I dropped some more cash at three card poker and returned to the room for a brief nap before sitting on the balcony to enjoy the heat.
Dinner tonight was at the Beach Cafe where I ordered Pho with steak. It was so spicy hot even before I added jalapenos and rooster sauce that Babs almost choked when she tried it. I painfully finished it.
After dinner I returned to the three card poker table to round out my $330 in losses for the trip. That includes our earlier stop in Council Bluff, IA. I feel like I’m caught in the Rolling Stones song “I can’t Get No Satisfaction” because I’m on a two year losing streak!
Tomorrow we begin our way back home via Winslow, AZ, the inspiration of the Eagles hit song.
